How To Make Sea Moss Gel (16 oz)

  • Ingredients
        1. Half ounce (14 grams) raw sea moss
        2. 1 gallon  of spring water
        3. 1 key lime
  • Process
      1. Wash all sand, salt, particles off of raw sea moss and place into a container.
      2. Slice lime into four equal parts and squeeze lime juice over sea moss. You can even toss the pieces of lime into the container.(The purpose of the lime is to neutralize the ocean flavor)
      3. Pour spring water over sea moss until it is completely covered in water. Sea moss will expand during this process so you can add additional water as needed to make sure sea moss stays fully covered in water.
      4. Let sea moss soak in water for 8-12 hrs
      5. Drain water off of sea moss, water can be kept and used to water indoor/outdoor plants as it is rich in nutrients/minerals.
      6. Add now fully hydrated sea moss to a blender with approximately 1 cup of spring water.
      7. The blended consistency you want or like is a personal preference, however I’ve found the consistency that best suits me is done in “5” cycles. One complete cycle is blending the sea moss and water on High, Medium, and Low for 1 minute each, this completes 1 cycle so do this 5 times total.
      8. Once your desired blending is completed pour the now sea moss gel into a glass jar (Mason or Ball) , tighten the lid and store in your refrigerator. Sea Moss gel will last 3-4 weeks in the refrigerator.
